    Huang Chaohui, the chairman of ZTC said ZTC accessed to the cell phone market in 1999. In the initial stage, ZTC mainly engaged in OEM which dealt with many brands such as Tuopu and Tian Shida and so on. Besides, in order to gain ground in the cell phone market, ZTC established Zhongtian Shanghai Cell Phone Solution Research Co., Ltd.   

 

    It was said that the current promotion of ZTC in the domestic market is very limited. Products of ZTC are export-oriented. Last year, ZTC exported more than 0.8 million pieces of cell phones. The export mainly targeted on markets in the Middle East and South Asia. Most of the exports were customized by the local operators, and the rest are self-owned brands of ZTC.

 

    Huang Chaohui said that the greatest benefit ZTC would gain from the license is that ZTC will obtain more trust and orders from foreign operators. Nowadays, the productivity of ZTC has achieved 1.5-2.0 million pieces of cell phones, over 80% of which are exported abroad. Therefore, the domestic market which is faced with fierce competition has limited influence on ZTC. ZTC will certainly conduct a series of promotions in the domestic market. Recently, products of ZTC are sold in many domestic big cities. The major mode of sale is marketing through provincial contractors. ZTC is gradually permeating to the subordinate markets.
